The Butter is packed with potent oils, actives and age-defying ingredients, designed to leave skin soft, nourished and properly hydrated. It works beautifully as the occlusive final step for both face and body. Inside: castor and black seed oil, two of the most deeply nourishing, skin-compatible oils around. Tallow, which mimics your skin more closely than most plant fats. Mango seed butter and shea butter for serious hydration. And a careful, minimal touch of essential oils, frankincense (with an age-defying history dating back to Cleopatra), sweet fennel to boost efficiency, and carrot seed oil for glow. The essential oils are kept low on purpose, to avoid sun sensitivity on exposed skin. Despite how rich it is, it doesn't sit greasy or heavy on the skin, it absorbs as it warms with body heat, so a little really does go a long way.

Can I use it on my face?
Yes. The Butter is formulated with the same considered ingredients and active oils as the rest of the SCB range, it's rich, but for anyone with normal-to-dry skin it works beautifully on the face. Try it on your body first if you're not sure how your skin will respond to something this rich.
Won't it be greasy on my body?
It's rich by design, that's what makes it work. Apply to slightly damp skin (straight out of the shower is ideal) and it absorbs faster with less residue.
How is it different from a supermarket body cream?
Most supermarket body creams are mostly water with a small amount of oil and a lot of fillers. The Butter is the opposite, concentrated plant butters (mango, shea, tallow) and active oils, no water, no fillers. A little goes a long way.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
SCB products aren't formulated with pregnancy specifically in mind. They contain plant oils (including castor oil) and essential oils (including sweet fennel and carrot seed) in small concentrations. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to be, we'd recommend running the ingredients list past your doctor or midwife before use.
